Remember, our first paint contest deadline is this coming Sunday.
And as promised, I am finally able to announce what the prizes will be.
First place will win an 8"X8" piece of cavern dungeon terrain.
Second place will win a small "temple ruin" terrain piece.
Good luck to all who entered, and we'll see you this Sunday!

Picture Highlights from Garish's Cavern-o'-Creatures
Yesterday's event was smaller than usual due to some of the guys being out of town, but we still had fun painting and discussing emo zombies and why we no longer like Mister Basilisk, but in all the confusion, I totally forgot to turn on my camera..BUT...I have some photos from last week's event.
This time we had more cavern dungeon pieces ready, and by popular demand we brought out some new monsters. Of course everybody wanted to have a bit of a portrait session before the game, so we staged up a "wickedawesome" fight.
Here's a few closeups too.
Then it was time to get our fight on! I can't rightly recall every single monster slain, but I am pretty sure these guys could've made it to 2nd level.... but... well... things kinda got crazy.
The dwarf sort of went off ahead of the others and found the rope bridge to be a bit harder to cross than it should've been.
This basilisk did not make things any easier. It was suggested at one point that the recently petrified Saproling Warrior be used as a battering ram on a nearby set of locked doors so the surviving adventurers could get away.
And then it really got ugly. Fortunately, the old clock on the wall said it was time to pack up and head home. Our next dungeon will hopefully not be quite so tough..or maybe just maybe a cleric or mage will join the party.
But as always, everybody had a good time...
...even those who chose to "just paint quietly" while the guys had their fun.
I've also made a point to get some more female character minis in our next resupply order. Maybe a lady cleric or mage? The guys really could use some help if Mister Basilisk shows up again.
Next week's event will be the day we judge the kobold painting contest and announce winners. I'm still not sure what the prizes will be..but am sure there will be prizes (which I will announce as soon as possible).
I will also be bringing my portable mini photo studio next week to get pics of all the contest entries.

Humble beginnings
Though there is much work yet to be done, I have created this blog to serve as the "homepage" for the Paint-&-Play-Sunday group which has been meeting regularly for almost two months now at Hobbytown USA in Kennesaw, GA.
The purpose of this blog will be to serve as a central online place to announce upcoming special events or cancellations of regular Sunday events, to share any news on forthcoming painting or gaming products that might be of interest to group members, and most of all to share photos and highlights of group events.
In the next few days, I will be adding lots more content to the sidebar, as well as uploading a few photos of recent events to this site. Meanwhile, bear with me while I finish "getting moved in"
